Buy a Shirt, Preserve an Ocean

  • Reduce waste.

We start with gently used or new shirts from thrift stores instead of buying cheaply made blanks available at craft stores or online wholesalers.

Since these shirts are saved from being discarded, don’t end up clogging landfills or waterways.

  • Preserve waterways.

Many of the rescued shirts are made from polyester which does not decompose. Instead, it breaks down to microplastics which further pollute the planet, as they are harder to clean up.

  • Save resources.

Each shirt purchased from Jade Pickle and worn at least 10 times saves the equivalent of 174 glasses of drinking water, 50 hours of an LED lightbulb, and 1/4 mile of driving emissions versus a new shirt.
